The second match and the second result displays a quite normal course of the championship. Portugal dominated the game, but stroked only in the 61st minute through Pepe and in the 92nd through Raul Meireles ending the first game in victory, not like in 2004 when they lost the first game with Greece. Through this game Portugal showed that they are potential future European Champions.

Finally it has begun and the first match brought the first goal: Sverkoš (Czech Republic) scores after the Swiss defense fails to manage the ball in the 71st minute. This match confirmed the statistics which showed that the organizing team usually looses the first match, Switzerland following this way Portugal which lost in 2004 against Greece in the first game.
